I am a commerce graduate, working as a manager under my uncle in his organisation for over 8 years. Recently he hired an MBA and has asked me to train him for the job I am doing. Since then, I have been feeling insecure about my status here. He is paying me Rs 45,000 per month and the MBA fresher is earning Rs 75,000. Should I pursue an MBA or look for another job? How do I discuss this with my uncle?

@krishna kumar Dear Sir My last employer has shared me Certificate of Employment on my mail id after serving notice period and approval of resignation, and when I asked them if I should expect seperate document as experience and relieving letter they replied same document i.e certificate of employment will serve as both relieving and experience letter. so sir kindly confirm if it's correct or will I face any issues in future with this document? Note: this certificate of employment clearly says I worked from xyz date to abc date and it says I have been relieved from the services from close hours of abc date And in bottom it's mentioned : as per your contract of employment you will be bound by non- compete, solicition, non disclosure etc I am worried why my last employer has given me certificate of employment instead of relieving letter and will it affect me in future?

Sir, I dont know if I am successful in life. I'm 47 and work in a reputed Automotive company as AVP. My wife is with one of the top Indian pvt Bank as Region Head. She is only child of govt servants. We have 2 kids nearing teenage. Combined CTC is 74 lpa. We live in a 3 bhk and have 3 more apartments in Mumbai suburbs which is let out on rent and also invested in a small office space. 2 of these properties are inheritance. I do management consulting part time apart from regular work whenever I get time. My colleagues have become VP and Sr. VP. This I feel has been a point of concern for me. Don't know if I'm doing right things. I don't want to go to any smaller company as I've been here for 15 years. Usually I'm not confused but lately I ve started feeling that somewhere I am not upto my colleagues in terms of position.

If your working environment is toxic, suggest you change the company.

While it is said follow your heart, but many a times we also have to be practical. If you have stable financial position from family side and you have enough capital start a business then go for it. However don't start business just because you 'feel' about it. Your age is on your side, you can always start your business later.

Suggest you take a job, build a corpus for yourself and then venture into business.

Suggest you start with telemarketing companies as you have experience in the industry, give your best and you will grow steadily.

Siting and thinking what to do will not help, for you will spin your own mental cob webs. When you take action you know what is working and what is not. Its like driving a car, when you drive you know whether to increase or reduce the speed, take a turn, even u-turn. Just sitting and looking at the map wont take you anywhere.

I am 23years old male living in kolkata and a bcom general graduate with 73.52% in 2022, after that i taken gap years for mba entrance preparation but not able to crack or get desired percentile in any. Currently in 2024 i am repeating again for mba entrances to secure admission in 2025. I have no work or internships experience, no awards or certifications. I got 51.17 in 12th commerce and 54.71 in 10th. I got only a digital marketing beginner certification by google digital garage earlier on 2023. Currently i taken a digital marketing course from udemy of digital marketing to hone and develop the required skills I have been searching and applying for jobs since graduating but not able to get any desired one. Now i want to get into a good mba college tier 2 because may not eligible for tier 1 and 1.5 as per my profile but i will try anyways. So for that i need to make my profile good and need certifications and jobs or internships. I interest in sales, marketing, more but also Hr domain. But nowadays i am only getting Inssurance sales, bpo, telecaller or telemarketer, Kpo, sustomer support type jobs of around avg salary of 150000 pa. Which a 12th pass candidate also getting. I often thinks to get into bpo to gain experience and money to fill my profile and manage preparation expenses but also fear that what if i get stuck in that industry. I wanted to do mba to enchance and start my career in a management role to achieve a leadership role in upcoming years as a professional in sales and marketing industry. I don't know, i think i am stucked and lost in spiral web between situations and aspiration. I also thinking to get into banking or try govt. Exams to secure a job but i also feel that it will distract me more from my real life goals. I was not a great student or person earlier but now i am changed i know my responsibilities and i know my goals but i want a clear view to walk on that path. Please help with your genuine guidance. Ans: Can look at executive MBA course. Students with upto 15 years experience do Executive MBA from top B schools like ISB, IIM A, B, C. Else reskill yourself in the area of your interest and look for relevant jobs.

Ans: IIM Mumbai is supposed to be best for operations followed by SJMSOM. SPJIMR is also a good college and ranked better than IIM Mumbai and SJMSOM in terms of college rankings. If you want to keep your options open than can choose SJMSOM over the other two. But if you want to specialise in Operations than either IIM Mumbai or SPJIMR would be good options. Find out the placement details in these colleges and talk to the students of these colleges before you make your decision.

Ans: If you have 4 or 5+ years of work experience, you can try for executive MBA from any of the top institutes like IIM A, B, C, ISB, XL, etc. You would need to write the GMAT for the same. If you have less than that work ex, then can try for executive MBA from either ISB or Great Lakes.

A working mother, husband working abroad, there is only so much you can do. Spend quality time with your daughter, bond with her on stuff other than studies, that brings happiness to both of you.
If you as a mother know your child's potential then, this should be good. You are saying she is an average student then set a certain percentage that she can score, when she scores that much then celebrate it. Let her live a balanced life, right amount of time spent on studies and other skills. Expose her to other skills like, music, sports, debating, story telling... she will soon discover something where she excels!!

Set a time for studies, let her study during that time and rest of the time don't keep talking about studies, discuss and do something else. Explain to her why studying is important, make gaining knowledge, studying a rewarding experience. Every child comes with their set of strengths and success. As a mother cherish your child and enjoy your time together. Your child is unique, do not compare her with anyone else.

The addiction to mobile after COVID is a menace every parent is facing. The good part is she is aware about her exams and studies at least one week before her exams.

The rude behaviour, lack of focus on studies is all stemming from the mobile games. They are highly addictive and the thrill they give is beyond imagination. Slowly but surely you have to take away the mobile from her, that's the only way to help her look for other sources to keep her busy .Friends, new skills and studies will get her attention only when the mobile is away.

Allocate time for food, sleep, studies, play time and also mobile time( can't just take away the mobile, has to be weaned away from it gradually), in a day. Set a timer for the mobile usage, she has to return the mobile as soon as the timer bell rings.

Pls remember you are the adult here, she is just a child. Guide her, lead her towards better and interesting things to do. You all as a family have to stop sitting with the mobile, start reading books ,play board games , learn a new skill, sing songs, cook together, bake together, you make everything at home an interesting activity, joyful activity, why will a child sit on the mobile?
It is a going to be lot of hard work for you and if the end result of this is seeing your daughter away from the mobile, laughing and talking to her friends, playing around, studying well.....then this is worth all the effort.

It is unfair to expect a child all of 08 to come back home from school late in the evening and study(I am assuming he is home by 6.30 PM). You can shift his study time to the morning hours, say from 8 to 10 AM.

1. it's a good time to introduce time management to your 8yr old son
2. on a Sunday when both of you are relatively free, involve him to make a time table for studies. Stick the time table in a place where it is visible to him
3.let him relax for an hr after coming back from school
4.if you assume 10 PM is his sleeping time( the child needs 9-12 hrs of sleep), and 7:45 PM is dinner time, some where between dinner time and sleeping time, see if you can manage a little bit of HW/studies
5. there is so much happening at school apart from studies, he is developing - social skills, coping mechanism, developing new ideas ,etc....let home be a place where he is loved, nourished and a place to relax and rejuvenate
6. have fixed time to study and make him study during those hours.

You cannot be rigid, every child's requirements are different try out what suits you and your family!!

I am a bcom general graduate with 73.52% in 2022, after that i taken gap years for mba entrance preparation but not able to crack or get desired percentile in any. Currently in 2024 i am repeating again for mba entrances to secure admission in 2025. I have no work or internships experience, no awards or certifications. I got 51.17 in 12th commerce and 54.71 in 10th. I got only a digital marketing beginner certification by google digital garage earlier on 2023. Currently i taken a digital marketing course from udemy of digital marketing to hone and develop the required skills I have been searching and applying for jobs since graduating but not able to get any desired one. Now i want to get into a good mba college tier 2 because may not eligible for tier 1 and 1.5 as per my profile but i will try anyways. So for that i need to make my profile good and need certifications and jobs or internships. I interest in sales, marketing, more but also Hr domain. But nowadays i am only getting Inssurance sales, bpo, telecaller or telemarketer, Kpo, sustomer support type jobs of around avg salary of 150000 pa. Which a 12th pass candidate also getting. I often thinks to get into bpo to gain experience and money to fill my profile and manage preparation expenses but also fear that what if i get stuck in that industry. I wanted to do mba to enchance and start my career in a management role to achieve a leadership role in upcoming years as a professional in sales and marketing industry. I don't know, i think i am stucked and lost in spiral web between situations and aspiration. I also thinking to get into banking or try govt. Exams to secure a job but i also feel that it will distract me more from my real life goals. I was not a great student or person earlier but now i am changed i know my responsibilities and i know my goals but i want a clear view to walk on that path. Please help with your genuine guidance. Ans: You can write MBA entrance exams but simultaneously try and get some experience. Even if you do not get job in the area of your interest, try to look for other areas that could interest you where you can get some work ex. Internship usually does not have much value during admission to B schools.

Ans: Once you have got an experience in FMCG sales, moving to sales in other areas should be comparatively easy. But you need to have a relevant technical knowledge to get into sales in IT domain. So look at upskilling yourself in the area that you are interested in. There are not too many options at your level where you will be required to travel abroad for sales. Maximum they would send you abroad for training or would relocate you abroad to their international office.
